Four Rituals to Deepen Your Connection with Honeybush Chai
Tea has always been more than a beverage. It is breath and pause, a return to presence, a ritual handed down and reimagined. I created Honeybush Chai to honor that sacred pause—drawing from global chai traditions while grounding the blend in the vibrant healing botanicals of South Africa.
Rooibos and honeybush, grown in the Cederberg mountains, are naturally caffeine-free and rich in polyphenols. They offer a soft, earthy sweetness that supports both internal vitality and graceful aging. Combined with warming spices—cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, clove, star anise, fennel, and more—this blend becomes something more than tea. It becomes ritual.
Here are four beautiful ways to experience Honeybush Chai, each rooted in nourishment and stillness.
1. 🫖
Oatmilk Honeybush Chai Latte
A gently spiced, caffeine-free ritual for any time of day
Creamy, naturally sweet, and deeply comforting—this is our signature way to enjoy Honeybush Chai. It’s a ritual that can begin your morning or bring you home to yourself in the evening.
You’ll Need:
-
1 tbsp Elecampane Rose Honeybush Chai
-
¾ cup filtered water
-
¾ cup unsweetened oat milk
-
Optional: 1–2 tsp raw honey, monk fruit, maple syrup, or date syrup
-
Optional garnish: cinnamon dusting or dried rose petals
Instructions:
-
In a small pot, gently simmer the Honeybush Chai in water for 7-10 minutes, covered. Or, if you have less time, you can steep the chai in boiling water for 5-7 minutes.
-
Warm the oat milk until gently steaming (do not boil).
-
Strain the tea into your favorite mug, add a sweetener like monk fruit if desired, and top with the steamed oat milk.
-
For a café-style finish, froth the milk or blend briefly. Dust with cinnamon if desired.
Tip: Brew double-strength and serve over ice for a summer ritual.
2. 🛁
Honeybush Chai + Coconut Milk Bath
A body ritual for calm skin and deeper breath
Steep a cup of Honeybush Chai to sip while soaking in our Oat & Coconut Milk Bath (arriving Summer '25)—a creamy, botanical soak that nourishes the skin and soothes the nervous system. This pairing invites you to slow down and tend to both the outer and inner body.
Let the scent of chai fill the room as you settle into stillness. This is your time.
Best enjoyed with soft music, low light, and the space to linger.
3. 🍯
Honeybush Chai Simple Syrup
A botanical syrup to sweeten drinks, desserts, and late afternoon moments
This gently spiced syrup is a lovely way to carry the flavor of Honeybush Chai into your kitchen rituals.
You’ll Need:
-
2-3 tbsp Honeybush Chai
-
2 cup water
-
½ - 1 cup monk fruit, raw sugar or honey (depending on your desired sweetness)
Instructions:
-
Simmer chai in water for 10 minutes.
-
Strain and return to the pot. Add sweetener and stir until dissolved. Simmer for 2-3 minutes more.
-
Cool and store in a glass jar in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
Try it in sparkling water with lemon, over roasted fruit, atop steel cut oats, or stirred into warm oat milk.
4. ❄️
Frozen Honeybush Chai Cubes
A cooling ritual for iced chai, mocktails, or smoothies
Steeped and frozen into golden blocks, these cubes allow you to carry the flavor of Honeybush Chai into warm-weather drinks without dilution.
To make:
Brew a strong infusion of Honeybush Chai, let cool, and pour into silicone ice cube trays. Freeze until solid.
Add to:
-
Iced Honeybush Chai Lattes
-
Smoothies with banana and oat milk
-
Sparkling water with citrus or herbs
